The Capacity Manager must compute and track all agreed key performance indicators for Technology Capacity Management
and report the same to relevant stakeholders at an agreed frequency. The Technology Capacity Plan can be used as a
basis for reporting progress on agreed action points to keep the capacity of the IT infrastructure and its resources on
the agreed level. The Capacity Manager must create capacity utilization and response time reports for each of the
agreed IT services and service components. The report must contain exceptions in technology capacity (if any) and
utilization reports in comparison with thresholds and baselines. The report must also highlight change in technology
capacity baselines, if any. The Technology Capacity Report then gets communicated to the Engagement Manager and other
stakeholders, as agreed in the Technology Capacity Management Procedure.
Few examples of key performance indicators for Technology Capacity Management include:
-
SLA breaches due to technology capacity
-
Number of incidents due to technology capacity
-
Number of upgrades in technology capacity.
